About Priscilla Mercedes


Priscilla Mercedes Vázquez is a photographer from San Juan, Puerto Rico, specializing in portrait, wedding, food and restaurant photography. Full of creative energy, she earned a BFA in Media Arts with a concentration in Photography from Pratt Institute in 2009. Subsequently acquiring work experience in the fields of visual communications and fine arts, assisting artists as diverse as, photographer, Suza Scalora and, painter, Lee Quiñones.

Well-versed in visual language and photographic symbolism, she applies her skills to shooting weddings, restaurants, concerts, and installation views, but photojournalism and portraits are her favorite. Her work has been published in The New York Times City Blog and the Czech Republic’s Lime Magazine. She has exhibited with the Puerto Rican Society for Artistic Photography and presented work in the 2009 Framing AIDS exhibit at the Queens Museum of Art. Her work has been featured in the newspapers El Vocero and El Nuevo Día, as well as the University of Puerto Rico’s magazine, Diálogos. 

She is currently a student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Colorado State University and hopes to complete her master's degree by 2021.
